New Juniper App!

juniper artworkHome school parents, art teachers, lovers of art and illustrated children’s books will love a new resource made available by State Library of WA  as part of a project to  enable digitisation and universal access to a rare Western Australian children’s book illustration collection.

This is a wonderful way to introduce a new generation to these works.

The first artist to be featured is Robert Juniper. There is an app for both  iOS and Android downloadable from this page. (See the photo for a screenshot of the iPad app from the website).

Through the app the blurb states that you will be able to:

“… Read the Mason Judy story
• Listen to it be read by the author
• Explore the paintings in depth
• Learn more about the social and community environment of the time
• See how the artwork connects to historical documents and photographs from the State Library’s collection
• Link to the related education program, featuring discussion points, facts and information and activities for use in the classroom
• Or just enjoy the beautiful artwork” (from http://ow.ly/WMHfN ).
